Thursday, June 24 - Sunday, June 27

It has been a series of hot days. Temps in the mid to upper 90's with high humidity. Thankful for good air conditioning in our homes, jobs and cars. Terri has been busy training and I have a lot of work preparing for migration. Enjoying it as it keeps me very busy and the days go by quickly. We had the boy on Thursday evening. He is a hoot. Getting stubborn and ornery. Have to pray hard for him. Met Allyson and Nathan at Ocean China for supper and then to Mema's for a visit. Friday evening rested and enjoyed a surprise visit from Rob and Lori from Canada. Justin came over and we hooked up the trolling motor. Works great. Needs some adjusting but not difficult to do. Will hook up the charger next. Saturday, mowed and weedeated the yard. Weedeater is leaking fuel, so had to quit. Got to work on that. Allyson and Nathan playing ball in a benefit tournament. Awful hot out. Worked on finances while waiting for them to call us to come up to the lake. Fueled up the boat and headed up there about 5pm. Got on the water and went up to the island and out of the wind and waves. Tied up to a tree and set the anchor and fished until 11pm. Nathan caught a 20 in, 2 lb flat head. Too small to keep, but was fun to watch him catch it. Allyson swam before dark. Tired and home about 1pm. Overslept and went to 1020 service. Pastor's son Michael from Dallas preached. He is a good preacher. Was a good message. Picked up Allyson and Nathan and took them to Caney cafe for lunch. They didn't have any food at the camp ground. Home to rest and Mike called to see if I wanted to go to Birch lake and check it out. Headed there about 3pm and fished until we saw storms building toward us. Beat the rain, got the boat loaded and covered and headed home. Rained quite a bit on us. I had not covered our boat. Terri lowered the bimini top but the cover is too heavy for her. It will dry out. Will work on it Monday evening. Rested Sunday evening. She sure enjoys her new puppy.
